Theatre Trip

7th December 2010

Despite the recent snow, on Friday the 3rd December, Academy students were rewarded with a trip to Milton Keynes Theatre. After a fantastic term of Drama it was decided that class 8E had made the most progress in a single term and due to their fantastic behaviour in class they were to spend their double lesson with a tour around one of the country's largest theatres. Led by Mr Phillips and Ms de Cort the group were given an insight into the way that professionals work with a look at the dressing rooms, wardrobe department and even a chance to tread the boards where such great actors as Patrick Stewart have performed in recent years. It was also Mr Phillips' final trip with the group before leaving the Academy. He said that ‘it has been a pleasure working with the group both in drama and in enterprise and it was a nice way to say goodbye. I wish them every bit of luck for the future and I may even see one or two of them on that stage performing one day'.
