Wednesday Recreation

Everyone in Studio 6 has the opportunity to take part in two hours of recreation on Wednesday afternoons.

This is the traditional ‘games’ afternoon at university so it is preparing those who want to continue to higher education. These two hours are very important as they will help you develop skills, knowledge and understanding – as well as make new friends.

You will be offered a choice of activities including swimming, basketball, badminton, table tennis and football.

However, if you would prefer to pursue a different non-sports activity this will also be possible.

On Wednesday afternoons you will have the opportunity to enroll on the Sports Leaders course, which could lead to you being awarded a nationally recognised qualification which will certainly help you in the future. Within this qualification you will learn and apply leadership skills and will teach small groups of students. You will also be able to assist in lessons with teachers and develop your leadership skills even further.

You may also like to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, which includes the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
