The Academy has a Business and Enterprise Specialism. What this means for Studio 6 students is that we are committed to do our best to ensure that you will leave the Academy with a rich and varied CV that will help you follow your chosen path.

To help with this, we have listened long and hard to what employers want, and have placed their feedback at the centre of our thinking. They have told us that while qualifications are a really important element of what they look for in young people, it is by no means the only factor they take into account.

For young people to compete today they also need to be able to show that they have developed a range of skills such as being innovative, being able to work as part of a team and have determination.

Students in Studio 6, regardless of what they are studying, will spend two hours a week in enterprise sessions. These have been tailored to meet the needs of different students, so you may be learning about enterprise and employability to achieve a work skills qualification, or looking more directly to enhance your prospects of higher education.

During this time there will be a variety of activities taking place that will challenge and stretch students.

Studio 6 students will have access to employers for real life experiences. Last year more than 100 local employers supported activities in the Academy. Students will also have access to the Enterprise Hub to study and run their own enterprise projects.
