    You will be joining an innovative and forward thinking mathematics department with strong links to the Enigma Mathematics Hub. We follow a Mastery curriculum inspired by excellent theory and practices seen in the 2015/16 National England-China Secondary Mathematics Project in Shanghai. The team is led by Jayne Webster, Vice Principal, who is the Teaching for Mastery Secondary Specialist for the Enigma Hub region and NCETM.

    As a member of the department you will be involved in regular Teacher Research Groups to develop mastery lessons based around high quality resources including manipulatives and purpose made presentations. We pride ourselves in working collaboratively to raise achievement whilst maintaining the important work-life balance.

    The mathematics department is housed in the Aspire Village where all classrooms have an Interactive White Board, desktop computer and a visualiser enabling you to deliver engaging lessons. Outside of the classrooms we have a computer suite that can also be utilised. Furthermore, you will benefit from a highly organised curriculum plan where all lessons are planned and stored on the Academy's online curriculum, Moodle.

    You will be joining a department of 8 teachers with a range of skills and abilities, managed by a Vice Principal and Head of Mathematics who is supported by three Key Stage Co-ordinators and a Curriculum Assistant. From the moment you join us you will feel welcomed and supported by an experienced and varied team. As part of your induction into the Academy and the mathematics department you will be assigned a mentor who will support and guide you through your early days.

    We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Science team. As Science Technician you will play a key role in supporting the quality of student learning and progress by co-ordinating the use and maintenance of practical resources and facilities in the department. You will work as part of a team to ensure outstanding progress by all students.

    You will be someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will have the ability to work as part of a team, but also able to take the initiative. You will relish the unexpected and have a flexible approach. Previous experience of a school environment whilst may be of benefit, is not a requirement.

    As part of the Community Cohesion Project, we have an exciting new position available as a Parent Ambassador. We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic person to join our support staff. The role will contribute to community cohesion across the school and throughout the local community, working with students and their families from a diverse range of backgrounds to help them integrate into the school and the community. The successful candidate will report directly to a member of the Senior Leadership Team. This is a fixed-term post to July 2019.

    The successful candidate will work within the existing network of support staff to identify the needs of students and families from diverse backgrounds, plan and organise activities to improve their inclusion, integration and engagement in all aspects of school life and the local community. The work may range from individual and groups of students to individual families and community groups and will involve work in both the Academy and the local community.

    The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: • Effective organisational skill, an ability to manage their time and complete administrative task in accordance with the role. • Experience of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook. • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to empathise and support liaison between established and new community groups. • The ability to initiate and maintain links with a range of services across the locality that support and promote community cohesion and parental engagement with the academy. • A flexible approach to duties to meet the needs of the academy.

    The role will also require some flexibility to make time for personal professional development and specific accredited learning to OCN level 2.
