The Milton Keynes Academy is a co-educational, non-selective secondary school for students aged 11-18. We are a member of the Creative Education Trust, a charity and multi-academy trust with a network of non-selective primary and secondary state schools. Together, we work to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and creativity they need to succeed in school and in life.

Our proactive approach to developing positive outcomes for our students has been recognised by Ofsted, who confirmed once again in November 2017 that we are a good school. We believe that our academy exists for its children and for our community. Our ethos of high expectations emphasises traditional core values of good behaviour, honesty and mutual respect.

Our curriculum is broad and balanced supporting students to achieve in both academic and vocational qualifications. Teachers are committed, talented and passionate about delivering an engaging education. The school day starts at 8:45am and formal lessons end at 3:00pm. Beyond the classroom, students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

The Milton Keynes Academy is architecturally inspiring, boasting truly outstanding facilities and cutting edge resources. In 2018, a significant financial investment has provided a spacious restaurant, a further suite of science laboratories and a gym.

    We are now seeking to appoint an outstanding Vice Principal who has experience of senior leadership and can bring dynamism and drive to our varied and experienced team. Areas of responsibility are likely to include Teaching & Learning and Performance Management. The person appointed needs to be determined to drive up standards, able to strategically lead and make a significant and sustained impact at whole school level. In return, they will work in an innovative and enterprising Academy.

    The Food room is housed within the specialist Art & Design village where all classrooms have an Interactive White Board, desktop computer and a visualiser enabling you to deliver engaging lessons. Outside of the classrooms we have a computer suite that can also be utilised. The working environment is excellent and innovative in design with very well resourced work areas. Student success and displays of work are prominent. Furthermore, you will benefit from a highly organised curriculum plan where all lessons are planned and stored on the Academy's online curriculum, Moodle and Sharepoint.

    We currently offer Food as part of a carousel of activities within years 7 and 8 and in KS4 we currently deliver the Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE, but we are also evaluating other suitable Catering vocational qualifications.

    You will be stepping into a department of seven teachers with a range of skills and abilities, managed by a Head of Art & Design who is supported by a Deputy. Additionally, we have two technicians supporting the various disciplines within the department.

    We are looking for a multi-talented person with a professional manner and good customer focussed skills to join our Administration team.
