The Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students have been taking part in a Young Chef Competition. This was an opportunity for the students to show the culinary skills they have developed in their course so far.
It all began with the students making a decorated sponge cake which had to have 2 layers of sponge, piped icing and homemade decorations. There were some fantastic results and everyone excelled.
Stage 2 of the competition saw the students preparing and presenting a savoury dish of their own choice with suitable accompaniments. At this stage the scores from stage 1 and 2 were added together and the top 7 chefs went into the final.
For the final the students had to make a swiss roll suitable for a Summer Garden Party.
