Work Experience Success

Academy staff were delighted with very positive feedback about Sarah Langraish, who worked at a care home for senior citizens. Sarah said: “I did activities with the older people such as arts and crafts and found it very interesting getting to know them.  I know now that I want to work as a nurse with older people.”

Lindsay Wallace is also a big fan of work experience and said she enjoyed her time at the International fashion store: “I was nervous to begin with but as soon as I got there they put me at my ease.  I thought it was a really good experience and I learned a lot.”

All Year 10 students are given the opportunity to spend time with a local business and some are also able to use this experience to gain additional City & Guild qualifications.
