FEATURED STORY

What makes a great book?

Posted: 17th June 2011

For the first time groups of students at Milton Keynes Academy, along with 90,000 other young people across the country have been shadowing two popular book awards. The Carnegie Medal is awarded by children’s librarians for an outstanding book for young people. The Kate Greenaway Medal is awarded for an outstanding book in terms of illustrations for children.

We have been reading the books on the shortlists and then meeting regularly to talk about what we think about them.

The reading group have their own web page where we add reviews and will vote for our own favourite.

If you have read any of the books why not add your reviews? – Simply click at the top of the web page where it says ‘post a review’ http://www.carnegiegreenaway.org.uk/shadowingsite/index.php
