The Dance Showcase - A night at the Musicals

The Dance Showcase took place on the 23rd and 24th of March for the seventh year running, this year themed on "A night at the Musicals". Over 90 students were involved from all year groups. Performances were developed from break and lunchtime sessions, core lessons, GCSE dance groups, the Gifted and Talented group and Dance club. Year 10 and 11 Creative Media students helped to run the event as part of their accreditation. The Year 12 Creative and Media group hosted a matinee performance for the local feeder schools which was also a roaring success.

The two day event concluded in the annual prize-giving. This year’s highest honours were given to Lindsey Wallace for Junior Dancer of the Year and Deon Mcleod for Senior Dancer of the Year. The Williams Rabe Shield was also introduced for Outstanding Contribution to Performing Arts and a fond farewell given to both Tenita and Ashleigh as they both head on to continue their dance careers at University next September.
