The Academy rocks

The Academy rocked this week when new band Luminites blasted into the main hall.

Year 7 and 8 students heard some great live music from the street band and then had the chance to put questions to young performers R-titz, Steph, JJ, Corey and Ella.

Band members told students that they work very hard at their music and perform or practise at least eight hours every day.

Most students seemed to love the music and were enthusiastic about the band’s performance.  Student Lee Girdlestone said: "The music was really good and I think that one day Luminites might be famous."

Band members told students that they spent time busking in London and have big ambitions: “Soon we hope to be playing all over the country and, one day, all over the world!  Our sound is a blend of acoustic guitar, human beat box, keys and vocal harmony.  We like to think that we play with a unique passion and energy and our mission is to create amazing music that we can share with the world.”
