Studio 6 continues to grow

The popularity of the Academy’s sixth form continues to grow as 130 new students have signed up for Studio 6 this September.

The incoming Year 12 students were joined by other sixth formers continuing into their second year at a special Studio 6 induction week.

The programme included taster lessons in a variety of subjects including biology, forensic science, sport and leisure and history.

Students heard details about topics being taught in their new courses and there was excitement when those on the business course heard about a planned trip to The Autostadt at the Volkswagen factory in Germany.

Head of Science Mr Buxton explained how topics would be covered in much more depth in Studio 6 and gave a lesson on atoms to new chemistry students.  He explained: “The lesson is an introduction as we want to hit the ground running in September.”
