FEATURED STORY

Students recommend books to other teenagers at the Library

Posted: 6th July 2010

Mr Jolliffe, Mrs Castle, Miss Kenna and Mrs Haines took a group of members from the Saturday reading group on a tour of the Central Milton Keynes public library. Among all the fantastic resources, students saw a display of book reviews by MKA students.

Miss Fleming, in charge of the section, said she had to regularly fill the shelves next to the reviews as teenagers were clearly borrowing the books our students had recommended.

The tour included:

  • the cool teenage section of the adult library
  • the reference section - great for magazines and newspapers and, a bit like our LRC - a quiet place to study, relax and read
  • the local studies area - where we saw maps of Milton Keynes from 1610!

Why not click on this link and find out more about the library - it's not just for books but websites, DVDs, computers. The 30 minute walk is mainly along the redways but don't forget to wear comfy shoes and take a raincoat or sunhat - just in case!
