Young people had the opportunity to put questions to a Government Minister recently.
Students grilled South East Regional Minister Jonathan Shaw when he visited the Academy on February 25.The Minister was asked questions including how hard is his job and why did he become an MP by student representatives from each year group.
Sixth form student Sandeep Ghotora told Mr Shaw how she wanted people in the local community to take pride in the Academy. She added: "He is a really nice guy. He seemed very interested in us and we had a good chat."
The Minister said: "Coming in as a visitor for the first time I am really impressed by what I have seen. I would happily send my own daughter here."
Mr Shaw was accompanied on his visit by Dr Phyllis Starkey, MP for Milton Keynes South West.
The visitors also met Nicolas Heslop, Public Affairs Manager of the Academy's sponsor, Edge, who explained how students are really benefiting from the school's ethos of practical ‘learning by doing' being given as much importance as academic learning.
