Students have their say!

Having a non-uniform day and having more school trips were just two of the issues raised at the first Student Council meeting.

Representatives from all year groups met together in the Business Hub on October 4 to put forward their concerns and suggestions.

Topics covered included having more activities to do during breaks and lunchtimes, and how to encourage students to have more respect for each other and the facilities within the building.

Director of Business and Enterprise Sean Hickey said: "The Student Council gives a voice to students and it is a really important way for children to take ownership of issues and feed views back to the senior leadership team."

Issues raised by students at the meeting will now be put to the senior leadership team, who will then report back to the next Student Council meeting. Year group representatives then have the responsibility of feeding this back to students in their year.

Student Council meetings will take place each term.
