Sport Relief Fundraising

Posted: 23rd April 2012

Four enthusiastic Year 12 students raised £955.16 for Sport Relief by organising a dress-down day.

Mohamed Iman, Jordan Hart, David Allan and Victoria Walker persuaded the majority of their fellow students to wear non-uniform and donate £1 to Sport Relief.

Victoria said: “I was really shocked and pleased by how many students wanted to get involved and the amount we raised.  The hardest part of it all was being at school before 7.30am to catch all the students who like to get in early!”.  Head of Leisure and Tourism Miss Lea praised the students: “They worked really hard and also learned the importance of teamwork” she said.

More money was raised for Sport Relief by a series of sporting challenges which ran throughout a week.  This kicked off with hundreds of staff and students running a mile around the Academy building and grounds.
