Choosing the right career can be tough, but it was made a little easier for Year 10 students recently.
The students had a great opportunity to learn more about many different careers at a ‘Business Speed-dating' event, held in the Business and Enterprise Hub and organised by Countec.
Individuals from 27 different organisations took part in the event including the Open University, MK Museum, MK Libraries, Thames Valley Police, Lynx Networks, Ikea and the MK Parks Trust.
Students had five minutes to grill pre-selected employers, and find out as much as they could about different careers.
David Coles from Coles Architects was one of the employers who gave up his time to take part in the event. "It's nice to be able to help," he said, "It was a chance for the students to ask questions and get a better understanding of what is involved."
Deputy Director of Business and Enterprise Debbie Gockelen said: "It was a fantastic opportunity for students to have a one-to-one with employers and get a real appreciation of what employers expect in terms of skills and qualifications."
