New Head Boy and Head Girl

"I was surprised when I realised that I had won the most votes, " said Mohammed, "The first thing I want to do is campaign for Studio 6 students to have a common room as we really need a special room where we can socialise."

Mohammed also wants to organise a good trip for Year 12 and 13 students which will give them a lasting memory.

The new Head Girl is a Year 9 Ambassador and has also been ‘the face' of the Academy in press adverts for Studio 6.

Roxanne is studying AS Sociology and Level 3 Sport and is also spending time working towards gaining her private pilot's license with 15 hours flying time already notched up at Cranfield.

"I've wanted to be a pilot since the age of seven and I will meet the entry requirements for taking an Air Transport with Commercial Pilot Training course at university," she said. 

As Head Girl, Roxanne is planning a big fund-raising day for Diabetes UK in March and is hoping that all students can get involved.

She would also like to see more employers come into the Academy to talk to sixth form students: "We have seen people from universities but I would like to hear from people from different businesses about apprenticeships and other career choices."

In the election 123 votes were received but eight were not counted.  Mohammed received 57 votes while Roxanne gained 43.
