At the beginning of June Mrs Read was notified that a selection of pupils from Years 7 and 8 were successful in the Young Writers’ latest creative writing competition, Mini Sagas. The editorial team behind the Young Writers competition selected work for publication based on Imagination, perception, expression and creative use of language. They said it was “a great achievement that you and your pupils can be proud of”.
A list of successful students was provided and letters were sent home to their parents/guardians with details regarding their child’s success.
Student’s Mini Sagas will be published in, Mini Sagas – Creative Capers The South, and will be kept at the British Library and other libraries across the UK and Republic of Ireland, providing a long lasting record of their achievement. As a thank you for entering Milton Keynes Academy students the school will be receiving their free complimentary copy of the book which is scheduled for publication on 30th September 2011.
The editorial team for the Mini Sagas will go on to select school winners. The prizes for the best schools across the series, £1000 first prize, £500 second prize and £250 third prize, will be awarded to the winning school once the books in this series have been published.
