As part of enterprise sessions a group of Year 9s have taken on the role of marketing consultants to help Milton Keynes Museum. Milton Keynes Museum posed the question ‘Why do young people 14-19 years not visit MK Museum more?' and has enlisted the help of our students.
Our students have been researching, visiting, questioning and thinking of as many different recommendations they can make to the museum as possible. The students have also visited the National Portrait Gallery in London to meet with their Young People's Programmes Manager and Youth Volunteers to see how a larger museum tackles this problem.
Towards the end of the project the group will present their findings and recommendations for the Museum and then begin to think about different ways that these can be implemented.
"I am really impressed with how the students have thrown themselves into the roles of consultants. With minimal guidance the students are producing some fabulous research which I am sure will be a credit to the museums future" says Mr. Baker who is managing the group of student consultants.
