The Academy joined in the biggest annual celebration of books and reading on Thursday March 3rd when staff and students in Explore Village stopped to read for 20 minutes.
Every student was given a £1 book voucher to exchange for one of the special World Book Day books or to put toward a book of their own choice.
Let us know what you spent your voucher on by voting on Fronter>Learning Resource Room. You can also ‘blog’ here about what you are reading – access via the main MKA website – You don’t need to be in school!
During Assembly too, staff shared their favourite reads and what types of books they liked. We were all reminded that reading is not something you only do when you are young. It can become a great way to relax and gain knowledge. Studies show that regular reading for pleasure improves young people’s literacy levels.
