Embrace the Tide performs at the Academy

A local band warmed up for their UK tour by performing at the Academy recently.

Embrace the Tide was a big hit with students who heard the band's hot punk and hard core music ahead of a tour to support Scrapbook Heroes.

Band member Freddi Goli said the event was a big success: "The whole purpose was to get kids into music. It was fun to play at the Academy and we got a good response. "

Freddi, who is the son of art teacher Miss Goli, said that to succeed young musicians should persevere, practice hard and make music they enjoy creating.

The event also gave the Academy band, Robbed of The Silence, the opportunity to play alongside established musicians.

Around 50 students watched the free performance in the main hall on January 7.
