Community breakfast

Individuals who have contributed towards the success of the Academy were thanked at a recent community breakfast.

Guests included people who have worked as mentors to students as well as representatives from local businesses such as Bistro Live and organisations including Woughton Community Council, Thames Valley Police, Citizens:mk and MK Dons. 

Event highlights were excellent dance performances from students and a delicious continental breakfast produced by the Academy’s catering team.

Director of Business and Enterprise Sean Hickey praised the guests for their support.  He added: “Thanks go to everyone for their contribution to the school which makes a huge difference to the richness of the experience of the children.  The relationships with the community are vital to the school and the Academy sees an important part of its role as being part of the local community.” 

Deputy Director of Business and Enterprise Miss Gockelen told guests about a successful project earlier in the year when students transformed a disused part of the old bus station into a social centre for young people.  She also presented certificates to students involved in the work.
