Author Steve Skidmore at the Academy

A group of Year 9 students enjoyed a workshop with Steve Skidmore – an author who has written over 130 books. He gave some great tips for writing. We hosted Steve and his writing partner Steve Barlow last year at the Academy when they spoke to year 7s.

The first three tips he gave were:

1.       Read lots!
2.       Write lots!
3.       Repeat steps 1 and 2, again and again and....

Steve showed us ebooks on iPods – many of their titles are free to download – again more details on their website. There’s never been a more exciting time to get into reading.

Steve also talked to Year11s about revision techniques and being prepared for the exam period.
