The talent, imagination and creativity of students made a big impact at the first Art Summer Show to be held at the Academy.
Visitors were impressed with the very high standard of work on display, and many commented that the work exceeded all expectations.
"The work on display is absolutely lovely," said Principal Lorna Caldicott, "A lot of the pieces are of an extremely high quality and reflect the huge talent and hard work of the students.
"The artwork has really livened up the building, and I hope we can have lots of good work on display throughout the Academy next year."
Work in the show was created by twenty BTEC, GCSE and A Level art and design students, and included paintings, drawings and 3D work.
Many of the young artists want to pursue a creative career including Yasmin Issaka a Year 11 BTEC student who is hoping to be a graphic designer and Cara Tucker from Year 10 who would like to be a fashion designer or make-up artist.
Amongst the work on display were beautifully intricate drawings from Gary Tran of Year 11, who was also awarded the Academy's Best Art and Design Student award recently.
Art technician Kim Morse said students added: "The students should be very proud of the work as it is excellent. It is of a fantastic quality with some really outstanding work on display."
