Alton Towers

An amazing fun-packed day was enjoyed by Studio 6 students as they celebrated the end of the academic year.

The students experienced the thrills and spills of Alton Towers on June 29 to mark the end of lots of hard work and exams.

Student Corlton Soe-Loek-Mooi said: “It was really good, we had fun.  The park was not as busy as I thought it would be and I went on as many rides as possible.”

Student Giovaana Laryea explained that the theme park idea came from the students: “We had a meeting with the Ambassadors about their thoughts of how we should celebrate the end of year and this was followed by meetings in the tutor groups.  Most of us decided to go to a theme park and we chose Alton towers.  

“We all had to raise money to pay for part of the trip and all form groups had different ideas.  My group decided to do a coffee and cake delivery service for staff.  We really enjoyed this as it was really enterprising and we worked together doing different parts of the task such as creating posters for marketing while others baked and sold the cakes.”

Other cash was raised by selling fruit smoothies and ice lollies, washing cars and selling tickets for a raffle to win an IPOD Shuffle.
