Academy's first head girl and head boy elected

The Academy's first Head Girl and Head Boy have been elected - and their plans include students having more fun!

The triumphant pair, Sandeep Ghotora and Arthur Coveney, are thrilled and honoured by their recent election success.

17-year-old Arthur said: "We would like to see the introduction of more student clubs which are educationally based but fun too. We also want learning in lessons to be more fun, and we would like to bring year groups more closely together."

The new Head Girl and Head Boy will also be campaigning to have a Sports Day later in the year with lots of unusual competitions as well as traditional sporting events.

Sandeep, aged 18, added: "We see ourselves as a channel of communication between the student body and staff. We will act as role models to the younger students and help to guide them in the right direction."

Sandeep aims to go on to university before being a property developer, and is studying Business and ICT A-levels in Studio 6. 

Arthur is studying Biology, Chemistry and Physics A-levels and has received four university offers. He is working towards a career in the research industry.

Nominations for Head Girl and Head Boy were invited from the sixteen Year 13 Ambassadors, and two girls and three boys put themselves forward for election.
