Academy Students Win £10,000

Teams had spent several weeks planning, researching and developing ideas to ‘green the new Buszy'.

Academy student Lewis Howarth said: "The new area will have computers, games and pool and will be a cool space where young people can have fun and relax. "

The revamped Buszy will use reconditioned computers and furniture, recycle materials and sell Fair Trade products.

Deputy Director of Business and Enterprise Miss Gockelen said the students had worked hard on the project: "They created interesting, confident and professional presentations and impressed the judges."

Students will be working on the project over the next four months ready for a grand opening in April 2011.

A further £5,000 was given to the Moonlight Skaters team to upgrade the skate plaza and £5,000 went to Inter-Space towards building a dance and martial arts area.
