Staff and students at the Academy went cake crazy on March 30 to raise cash for a charity aiming to launch vital new services for young people in the city.
Hundreds of delicious cakes were eaten, baked, raffled and auctioned throughout the day, raising £472.71 for the national Child Bereavement Charity which is setting up a support service for young people in Milton Keynes.
Students also heard presentations in their tutor groups about how bereavement affects children and their families.
The event was held at the request of Odette Mould of Greenleys, whose five year old son Harry died suddenly two years ago. Odette’s 12-year-old niece, Amy Bell, is a student at the Academy.
