A great performance in the first rounds of the Milton Keynes Schools Debating contest, has seen the Milton Keynes Academy Team, consisting of Studio 6 students Natalie Brewer and Alix Fisher, ably assisted by Francesca Malins, progressing to the semi finals.
Competing against other local schools at Bury Lawn School, the team had to oppose the motion that there should be a zero alcohol limit for driving. Through well marshalled arguments and confidence in delivery, the team won their round, and will now be competing in the semi finals, which will be hosted at the Academy on Friday 26 November. Should they win that, the team will be competing in the final, which will be hosted at the House of Commons in Westminster!
The picture shows our team is in the middle, with Mr Macaulay who helped organise the event holding the trophy the eventual overall winners will receive, and on the right, the Chairman of the evening Viscount Younger of Leckie.
