There were smiles all round when Studio Six students collected their exam results today (18 August). Overall, the year 13 A level students achieved a 95 per cent pass rate while 89 per cent of BTEC students passed. Special praise goes to the nine Level 3 BTEC students who achieved double distinctions - the equivalent to two A-level A grade passes.
Anthony Barber was thrilled with his double distinction in Sport and Leisure: "My results mean that I will be able to take up my place at Bedfordshire University", he said, "I'm feeling pretty good right now."
Principal Mrs Caldicott said: "I am pleased that so many students did well and performed as predicted. Fourteen Year 13 students are aiming for university and of these, nine achieved the points they needed for the places they had been offered. It is likely that the others will obtain university places through the clearing system and members of staff are helping them with that. Year 12 students also did extremely well with their AS exams and are on target to achieve good results next year."
Deputy Head of Studio 6 Mr Akram said: "The students have worked really really hard and benefited from a lot of systems we put in place to help them succeed. I am delighted with the results."
