The Milton Keynes Academy is proud to have joined other secondary schools to support Thames Valley Police with #TVPStronghold. We were delighted to welcome Cooper, a drugs dog, as part of the Academy’s strategy to safeguard and promote the welfare of all of our students.
We want to reassure parents and the wider community that there is a zero tolerance of illegal drug taking at all of the schools and academies in Milton Keynes.
We are sending a clear message to the subculture of criminal groups operating in this area that we will take all the necessary actions to protect our students and their families.
Neil Hutchinson, Interim Headteacher explained, “It is important that the whole community stands up against the subculture of criminal groups in society, particularly in areas where illegal drug use is seen as acceptable.
As educators we must do everything we can to instruct and inform the young people in our care, to protect them from the negative effects of these criminals.
I am delighted that we have such a good relationship with, and the full support of the Thames Valley Police, and that we can play a small part in the constant fight to ensure the health and wellbeing of our children."
