Students from the Academy were able to enjoy watching Milton Keynes storming their way to the top of their league, from some of the best seats at The Stadium MK.
Seven lucky students from Years 7, 9 and 10 were nominated by the PE department to be the recipients of free tickets to the MK Dons v Carlisle game on 8th December. The tickets were not just ordinary tickets as they entitled students to sit in the Club Red zone, which meant they had access to the pre-match player interview and the presentation of the Man of the Match award, and were treated as VIPs throughout their visit.
The tickets were donated to the Academy by Woodfines solicitors, a long time business partner of the Academy and presented by Woodfines partner Mike Hayward. Mike gave the boys a potted history of the club and mentioned some of the top flight football players who had come from Milton Keynes including our very own Oran Jackson. Oran is currently playing in the first team for MK Dons and is having a great season. Maybe unsurprisingly when he was at the Academy he was part of one of the most successful football teams in the school’s history. His career goes to underline what students can achieve with hard work.
Woodfines, like many of our business partners, work with the Academy to give students fantastic opportunities. Mike said, ‘It has been a pleasure working with Milton Keynes Academy in so many different ways and we are pleased on this occasion to have the opportunity to give these tickets to seven deserving students.’
