Smart Students in the fast lane

We have our winners! Congratulations to Claire Marsden of Year 8 whose family won the I-Pod touch and Nintendo DSi in the prize draw for those who completed the Parents' Questionnaire. We had 310 replies whose names went into the hat with extra chances for those who brought the questionnaire back the next day. Many thanks to all the parents who took time filling in the questionnaire. We are now going to study the results to find out what you think about The Academy and see how we can improve. We will publish our findings next term.
The prize for the best suggestion on how to improve communication with parents was won by the family of Josephine Owusu Ansah of Year 10. Their suggestion which focussed on praise and the need for regular, accurate communication was judged best by Peter Mitchell our Chair of Governors. He described their suggestion as ‘Unique, simple and doable'.
