Proving that work experience can be really beneficial is Studio 6 student Damon Bateman.
Thanks to his work placement with Woughton Community Council, Damon has lined up a job interview with Thames Valley Police.
Damon, aged 17, spent a week with the Council during the summer holidays learning about everything from allotments to street signs, even helping at a children’s fun day.
“While I was working in the office a Police Chief Inspector came in for a meeting and I had the opportunity to have a chat with her” Damon explained.“We spoke about my ambition to become a police officer and she arranged through the Academy for me to have a job interview which is brilliant.”
