The Advanced Diploma course lasts for two years and is worth 3.5 A-levels. This includes an A-level course of your choice. Universities and employers accept that Diplomas are qualifications that give young people excellent preparation for degree level study and employment in today’s rapidly changing world.

Course Content
The course will teach you the skills and knowledge that are essential in the creative and media industries.You’ll also learn how to use these skills in real-life environments, and understand why they are important.
The course is divided into five areas:
• Generic Learning - functional skills in English, maths and ICT are developed as well as personal learning and thinking skills that employers and higher educational institutions look for.
• Principle Learning - this content is specific to the Diploma in Creative and Media and is delivered through themes.
• Work Experience - minimum of 10 days work experience where you can develop the skills learnt within the classroom.
• Project - allows you to plan and organise you own learning, demonstrating skills that higher educational Institutes require.
• Additional and Specialist - offers an opportunity to study a particular topic in more depth, or broaden studies to the other areas. This could include an A level.
You need to have at least 5 GCSE or equivalent A*- C, one of which must be a Performing Arts subject.
There is a mix of exams and coursework assessments.
This subject is taught using a variety of teaching methods. There will be lots of group work and discussions.
This course is the perfect stepping stone to the next level course.
You will gain knowledge, experience and skills enabling you to work across all creative industries. This could include journalism, the media, marketing and theatre.
