To join the Academy as a Teacher of Maths starting in September 2010 (earlier start if possible)As a teacher of Maths you will be at the forefront of our curriculum development and our focus on quality teaching. Our philosophy places English and Maths at the heart of the curriculum with a focus on good time allocation for each subject; good teacher:student contact levels; close work with examination boards and educational resources to support your development and a focussed whole-school approach on literacy and numeracy.
As a subject teacher you will work in state-of-the-art facilities. You will have your own tablet PC; every room has access to a smartboard and many rooms have a visualiser. There is an ICT suite in each learning village, two sets of laptop trolleys and a well resourced VLE.
As a member of the Milton Keynes Academy teaching team you will be well supported - by the senior leadership team who are focussed on teaching and learning; by a support staff team who assist you as a teacher in the classroom and in lessons to make outstanding progress and by a comprehensive programme of induction and training to ensure your individual needs are met and that you fulfil your potential as a teacher.

Curriculum and Planning
1. To work with others to plan highly effective lessons, Schemes of Work and Curriculum Maps.
2. To review own lessons and effectiveness of own planning.
3. To contribute to development of Curriculum, Homework and Enterprise Projects.
4. To plan with LSAs to meet individual students on Additional Needs Register.
Teaching and Learning
1. To fully implement all Academy policies and procedures.
2. To make effective use of resources, including ICT.
3. To take part in peer skill exchanges, observations, coaching and mentoring.
4. To ensure all students can engage and achieve in lessons.
Standards and Achievement
1. To ensure students make outstanding progress.
2. To implement all actions following reviews of student progress.
Assessment
1. To fully implement the Academy policy and procedures to a high standard.
2. To plan for assessment for learning in every lesson.
3. To ensure levelling is accurate.
Enterprise
1. To lead the Tutor Group in Enterprise Projects.
2. To encourage and acknowledge enterprise attitudes in other staff and students.
3. To develop enterprising attitudes in students.
Liaison
1. To work closely with all support colleagues.
2. To work collaboratively with Village staff in sharing ideas and best practice.
3. To form effective relationships with parents and other parties.
Person Specification
